Yamaterasu bettei: Facilities common to all rooms
For all rooms, we are using GELTEX mattresses from Schlaraffia.
Rooms are equipped with Bluetooth speakers from Harman Kardon. Also, free Wi-Fi is available for usage throughout the whole building.
The built-in refrigerator is free of charge. Please do not hesitate to make use of the authentic coffee maker as well.
Face wash, makeup remover, toning lotion, emulsion amongst others are available.

We offer cuisine that sticks to “freshness” and “taste”, such as locally harvested fresh vegetables, branded cattle and branded pigs, as well as fresh seafood collected in the waters of the Shimabara peninsula surrounded by the sea. In particular, we specialize in “hot-pot cooking”, and one can enjoy a variety of hot-pot dishes such as “Kotoba Nabe” which has been a secret kept since its establishment, “Shabu Shabu” and a seasonal changing hot-pot .
Nagasaki Wagyu Teppanyaki cooked in front of you “SakuraBashi”
There is a “Teppanyaki” corner specially for first-timer guests staying at Unzen. We will cook in front of you at a special counter. We offer piping hot dishes such as “Nagasaki Wagyu” that clinched the top spot in Japan in 2012, seafood of Shimabara peninsula, steak of organic vegetables with plenty of absorbed Unzen minerals. Please enjoy the craftsmanship sure to please the senses at the teppanyaki counter seat.
YamaCafé “Ricky”
Café restaurant with terrace. In the evenings, one can use it as a space to enjoy a “just-out-of-the-bath time” after soaking in the bath, and as a bar at night. How about enjoying some drinks and cocktails while listening to nostalgic songs with your loved ones?
- This is a café restaurant where one can enjoy dishes that stick to local tastes, including the transient “Higashi Soba”. This restaurant is also open to customers who are not guests staying here.

When one opens the window, one is enticed into a comfortable time accompanied by the murmuring of the Shimizu River from which the hot spring flows and the sounds of overlapping bamboo leaves. One can even use the bath on a day trip. “
FuKen no yu
- You can also refresh your mind and body with the sauna surrounded by grilled cedar (Yakisugi) and brick.
- The usage of FuKen no yu and Shirakumo no yu between men and women are interchanged in the mornings and evenings.
Shirakumo no yu
- It gets its name from the mystical “Shirakumo Lake” located 15 minutes on foot from this hotel.
- There are two kinds of water- hot water and warm water.

The Mount Unzen that greets with rich expression every season. Immerse oneself in the atmosphere of a dignified mountain and immerse oneself in the rich hot water. Unzen Fukudaya’s garden outdoor hot spring is a Japanese-style bath in which time flows slowly.

Lobby Lounge “Danro”, which functions as the main lobby, provides gentle and cool breeze from outside in the summer, and is equipped with fire burning in the fireplace in winter, comfortably stimulating one’s five senses. It is this unique hospitality only experienceable at Fukudaya.
Coffee corner “illycaffé”
It boasts an espresso coffee roaster made in Trieste, Italy. Characterized by mellow taste and quaffable texture, this coffee is suitable even for those who do not handle coffee well. Fashionable coffee cups, spoons, sugar and more are also originals by illycaffé. How about some morning coffee after breakfast?

The hot springs in our hotel are strongly acidic sulfur spring with anti-aging, whitening and detox effects. After soaking, how about healing both mentally and physically with our “Relaxation Salon – IYASHI -” where a variety of menus are prepared? A relaxing time is guaranteed.
